I have a Magnaflow Axel-Back, and wanted to eliminate the resonator and get a straight pipe for it to be a true cat-back. will eliminating the resonator set the sensors off? also does the diameter size of the straight pipe matter?

It shouldn't. I have 2.5 in mid pipe with no problem

Ive had the setup for a while, 2.25 catback magnaflow with an eliminated resonator plus the header is raspy as hell & cold startup sounds horrible lol but no sensors just a lot of rasp

Did you buy the magnaflow from the company or you have a custom setup?

I bought mine from the company it sounds nice and deep, only problem is it's only an axel back that's why I want the straight pipe. I just want it to be a tad louder but still keep my current sound.

I got my resonator removed when I got my flowmaster cat-back and have had no problems.

heres an old video me & hussain made on our 1st trip to the track right after i had installed my header, i dont think it really sounds like this anymore lol it might just be me though, but i think the bd tuner adds a different tone to it as well

this is intake header & catback with a resonator delete

mmx23z exhaust is deep during startup but once he steps on the gas, I can hear it 3 lanes down with my intake+borla+y-pipe full throttle. Its a loud and pitchy/raspy noise. Really aggressive. Headers are sick, we need to meet again so we can fix that rattling you got going on. Wonder how your car will sound with no rattling....

I actually went to your guy (Link's mufflers) and that's what he recommended. He said deleting the resonator would make it a tad louder and deeper. But when I asked about the sensor he said it's a 50/50 chance, that's why I'm still thinking about it. I will probably end up not doing it since I was told that my warranty can get void if I do that. :tisk:

sanosuke, did you end up removing the resonator, using the magnaflow axle back? I've got the same set up and I'm curious if you removed the resonator and how you liked the tone. Let me know
