exhaust question

i was wondering what the little cylinder on the exhaust piping is. To me it looks like a lil weight of some kind.

Be more specific. Where is it. What does it look like

if you look under the back of the car, there is a little round cylinder. Like i said, it looks like a weight of some kind. It is mounted to the exhaust pipe with a bracket rite behind the muffler.

well if its part of the exhaust piping it self sounds like a resonator to me

nah its most likely the vibration dampner . nissan is famous for using them all over their cars. the 97 to 99 pathfinder has some 3 of them on the exhaust alone
