Got my IAP kit...7.35lbs of boost. My stock cat is...melted..I got a 3"test pipe should be here anyday.Should I leave it at that or hook it back up to my stock exhaust.... Be 2-3 weeks before I can afford an exhaust system.(Not my daily driver)But will be driving it on the weekend. Should I hook up to my stock exhaust?Should I leave it unhooked after my test pipe? What problems may occur from either? Thanx

*My plan being I just got a welder was to get some 3'' pipe and also use my friend pipe bender and take 3'' pipe straight back to the muffler...* If this won't work guess I'll break down and buy a BRM

No real need for 3" at 8 lbs of boost...

Do a 2.5" aluminized, keep the cost down.

if you dump the exhaust at the downpipe you're going to go deaf in a matter of days. I removed my exhaust to clean it up and fix one of the hangers and for the few minutes I drove the car I couldn't hear anything but the boom of the exhaust. it was pretty cool but it was LOUD.

besides the BRM exhaust is pure sex w/ the turbo on. I got a thumbs up from a Vr-4 this saturday and my domestic-loving friend even likes it.

i ran open downpipe with my boost designs kit while waiting to get my mid pipe installed... sounded a bit loud at idle and low rpms, but when you hit boost its not that bad.

While going from a 2.5" to a 3" pipe is not going to make a huge difference, you will notice an increase in boost response and a relatively slight increase in power. It will likely be louder.
