Hi,
Does any one have an Ark Grip or HKS dual exhaust on their 1st gen. G35 coupe? I'm interested in comments as to fit and sound (not looking for a raspy sound). The car will probably only get a Z pipe, K&N insert, Motordyne plenum spacer and maybe a Hypertech box. I don't want to sacrifice low and mid range torque for high end gains since it will only ever be a street car. Perhaps an Ark DT-s would do, but I can't see paying $1400 for a single pipe when I can get duals for that.
Thanks, Dave

The ARK sounds great on all G/Z's. Been selling them for years and heard them in person.

Thanks. I visited your store - nice. Question - do you sell the Ark DT-S single pipe exhaust for the 1st Gen. G35 Coupe? Is there a noticeable drop off in low to mid range torque with the dual pipes? The reason I ask is that I had a 2nd Gen. Trans Am, stoutly built as a street only car. I used slightly smaller exhaust and tail pipes than many (2.25" vs. 2.5 or 3"), from the headers back to get all the off the line torque I could. The Pontiac engine was a 406ci and good to 6K rpm shift points. Thanks

The DT-S is currently $1274.25 shipped. The exhaust on the G35 is somewhat restrictive in stock form and benefits from the dual exhaust. The converters are the biggest choke points. Don't expect astronomical gains from any system on this car, anywhere from 10-15hp is average. After certain modifications, a tune is 100% necessary to pull the maximum amount and keep the A/F in check.

Thanks for all the info. On this site, I see people talking about a tune. Not sure what this is since my T/A had a carburetor (modified Quadrajet), no cats, modified HEI ignition and an MSD rev-limiter. Is this the same as getting a Hypertech gadjet or do you take it somewhere?

Most will opt to have an Uprev dyno tune. Had one done on my G35.
