exhaust pipe bends

hey my dad just got an exhaust pipe bender in his garage and im thinking about making a new catback for my 240 since its got all kinds of crazy 90 degree bends. im just seeing if anyone has pictures of their "straight piped" if thats what you want to call it 240's

I picked up a used "straight pipe" BuddyClub II out of the classified section. It's loud as F**k & I like it

I'm not sure why the coldpipe would be heat wrapped though... wouldnt that be counterproductive?

OP- My recommendation is not to copy what the pictures above depict, But rather re create your stock exhaust with a larger diameter pipe and mandrel bends. This way your clearance will be great should you ever decide to slam the car.

This is my only regret with my ebay header and catback. fewer bends means less backpressure, but also generally means less clearance.

im thinking its to keep the heat from transfering into the intake, but i dont know

well now that i think about it im just going to replace those two 90 degree angles that are right before the muffler with one 45 degreeish angle that way it comes out the back end for my n1 canister at a cool angle lol, thinking about gutting the cat too

I figure it is an insulater so theoritically it will keep heat out as well...i could be wrong but im sure the results either way are negligeble...i had a ton of it so i used it

Not sure about where you are, but that sounds like a cop magnet to me, dude.

do something like BRM. Keep it low key AND performance.

well where i am i pretty much know all the cops and they really dont care about loudness.

ok well i got my car on the lift today and realized theres and secondary muffler in between the end muffler and the cat..is that really doing anything because im going to cut right behind that and begin my custom piping,any ideas

thats a resonator...does nothing but muffles the sound.

theres no heat on the "cold" pipe. hence the coldness of the pipeness. research is fun, try it some time.

That's not a muffler, but a resonator. It's a good idea to add a resonator to any exhaust system to smooth out some of the raspiness and get that nice tone I'm sure you're looking for.

i guess if you have a track car and the track you are at doesnt have any restrictions...

ok so last question in your opinion what do you think looks bettter, i have an n1 canister, coming out at an angle or just straight i cant choose?
