Sorry for the big pics guys. I just love my camera so much I can't turn the resolution down for exterior shots. Go here tho...you can see the smaller versions in Member's Rides

http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/...=8076

And yes, it is an HKS Hi Power. 85mm piping, 120mm tip. As you can see in the following pic, there is a sizeable resonator as part of the catback, so off boost, the car sounds very mellow and throaty. Under boost, it sounds wacko and scares people in traffic

PS Get bigger monitors. I have a 21" Sony flat screen CRT cranked to 1600x1200. I hate my eyes

A lot people don't like huge canisters and like the "more stock look" of the dual outlets.

i've got a 2.25 all the way to a magnaflow muffler with dual tip. . .sounds like a porshe, but pops if i just got done gettin up on it lol. Anyone know how to get rid of this noise? I have put a resonator on it, and it helped. The car has had a tune up (bosch platinum2, magnacore 8.8 wires, new distributor, and engine/transmission oil change. . . anyone else have this problem. I'm trying to keep from the cat, just cause I like to piss cops off.

also because with the dual piping you retain the flow for horsepower that you get with bigger piping because you have two smaller pipes that are about equal to one large one, at the same time keeping torque good because you have smaller piping diameter

Wakaba. Young driver.

The popping that you are getting is b/c there is no cat. Most older cars run rich from the factory to keep combustion safe, so the excess gas pops as it explodes in the exhaust piping istead of in the combustion chamber. My N/A rotary would throw a 1' flame every down shift or if I let off at high RPM. Gotta love that! Same reason that high hp turbo cars and race cars do the same thing....

here are the dual N1s on my last 240. sorry if they're a little dark.and if the pics are too big, you can right click on them and save them. then, open them up in microsoft paint or something and just size them down with the stretch and skew function.

BIGGIE, what kind of wheels do you have on that white coupe? Also what's the bolt pattern? It looks like a 4 bolt, I just can't tell for sure.

I recently went the cheap cheap route on an exhaust. Ebay OBX 2.5" header, E-bay 3" cat, 3" piping all the way back to an ebay OBX 3" inlet 4.5" outlet canister. All for a grand total of @150 bucks. From the cat I had a local one man muffler shop bend me some 3" all the way back. Very tight job, the guy hung it as close to the car as he could. The hole system hardley moves when pushed, no rubbing, nothing. Also some nice clean welds, and top notch hanger job. All the hangers were bolted to the frame (by fishing bolts through holes in the frame). I was worried about how it would sound, being that I used the cheap obx parts. Boy am I happy now, sounds very deep, slight wrx sound to it. Even up in the rpm's it's still deep. Now for the seat-o-pants-o-meter meter. I personally can not tell of a torque loss down low. As for up high, it doesn't stuggle as much to beat on the red-line. Not that I take it there regularly, it was just needed for the seat-o-pants-o-meter. So in conclusion the exhaust has 2 bends. There is one slight bend after the cat and another maybe 15 degree bend for the muffler angle, very straight deal. The damn thing sounds beautiful , yes it is loud but I guess that's what I wanted. Just can't beat a custom mandrel bent system, it all just fits so tightly. Now if I could just come up on the loot for a custom turbo job...... Here are a couple crappy pics, I didn't think to take any while it was in the air.

The main thing to worry about with a cheap system is the muffler packing decomposing or breaking apart and no longer working, giving a great bbblllaaapppp exhaust after about 6 months or a year. HK$ and hand fabbed T304 stainless was not the cheapest route, but I know that it will last a long, long time.

That's very true Rico, that's still one of my fears. I guess I'll have to cross that bridge if and when it goes.
