I guess 3in piping is the ideal size for anything between 250 and 350hp. What are you guys running for a muffler...just ebay or what. Im just asking because i dont want it to loud. Guy before me had it just downpipe open and it was just a little too loud for me. Well a little to loud for cops around here. I know its kind of a stupid question just want a decent setup.

I do too. It sounds great, but it doesn't fit the greatest without having the downpipe modified to fit. Shipping the 1-piece 8-foot box isn't cheap either...I personally like the HKS Hi-power. Any decent 3-inch exhaust should be sufficient for your goals and more.

When i was running stock turbo i had the HKS Hi-Power and i loved it. Its quiet for cruising but when you step on the loud pedal it lets you know its there. I'm running the 85mm hi-power btw.

gt spec here as well, sounds great with minimal drone on the highway...its alot quieter than you thinkcourse like ANY apexi s chassis exhaust it has fitment for s*** and hits just about everything unless you use a custom down pipe.

With a meduim power turbo car it'll be pretty quiet no matter what exhaust you have.

I have a invidia 3in turbo exhaust that only has the muffler at the end, and its all straight 3in piping. Its not bad at all even at WOT. The exhaust note is better then an ebay special because the piping is high quality SS but thats about it.

Just get any exhaust you like style wise and it'll be fine.

Espilir GT500

Sounds good, fits relatively well. No drone at highway speeds at ALL.

3.5in down pipe, 3.5in electric cut out, 4in straight pipe out the rear, no mufflers

just putting it out there because i can get it for free but what do you guys think about wrapping the entire exhaust turbo back.....just downpipe is probly more reasonable.

Sounds kinda pointless. The point of heat wrap is to keep under hood temps down or keep heat out of a certain area. The exhaust under the car won't affect anything and when cruising will draw the heat out.

I guess you could do it but would be wasting a lot of time.

not to mention exhaust wrap gets gross quickly, dirty and holds all kinds of dust and grit.

I just used a magnaflow muffler, and had my buddy make custom exhuast. did this on my evo too. both cars are quieter than others i have heard with similar mods. the 240 sounds VERY smooth and queit with the rb25. i drive infront of cops and dont worry about it

Bottom line, you have a skyline motor with a turbo, its going to sound good no matter what you put on it.

Thanks guys was not really a issue just didn't really know where to start on that one. Technically "the best exhaust is no exhaust = open header" . Hotter gas moves/expands faster and in some instances causes a scavenging effect overcoming muffler restriction or backpreassure....So thermal wrap def. wouldn't ever be pointless but, yes kinda dumb for like maybe 2-8hp. Im just putting it out there that if you wanted the best exhaust system possible, get the best aftermarket one and wrap it all up or just get a cutout..... Man i read too many articles...

Ill throw this out and see what happens"the whole backpreassure thing for NA turbo whatever is complete crap as long as you have a manifold/header as far as preformance is concerned.

dont wrap your entire exhaust system! that wrap will hold moisture and rust w/e is wrapped if you drive it in the rain, just wrap the d/p till its outta the engine bay
