Exhaust note

My 2004 M45 has 30,000 miles. I've noticed a change in the exhaust note. Nothingbad, just at certain points it sounds like the final muffler($340 ) may have begun tohollow out. Is it possible for this to happen at 30,000 miles. I suppose frequent short cold start trips by the original owner could explain.

Short trips wouldnt affect the mufflers at all.All this means is that you have to design your new exhaust system with new mufflers, resonators and bigger pipes, ENJOY!!! Oh, and keep us posted.

Unless the M45 is stainless to the end, short trips less than 5 minutes on a cold start,absolutely will prematurely rot the final muffler do to condensation.

I would not modify this car at all. I would spring the $345 for the OEM muffler.
