Exhaust Manifold

Hello to all

New to the forum but have a question I have a 97 j30T (210K miles) I was told recently by my mechanic I have a exhaust manifold leak wondering how much this would normally run parts and labor ?

Do you know where on the manifold the leak is?

What are your symptoms?

Dont know exactly were but will further investigate , as far as the symptoms I have been hearing a rattle during the idleing and when the a/c is on .

If you also hear rattling sometimes when you accelerate, it could be that your flywheel has lost teeth. Exhauset manifold repairs are rare on J's (I only recall hearing of one in the 7-8 years), it was on an abused/neglected J.

Was your mechanic familliar with the VG30DE engine? The engine is unlike a lot of mass market engines.

Im pretty sure, he is actually a mechanic at a infiniti dealership he changed my timing belt eariler last year and I got a company car at work so the J was sitting for a while .
