Hey guys,

Today, I was going to install my DC Sport Headers on my S13, ended up being stuck at one place. I got all of the bolts off the heat shield, removed the O2 sensor, but it won't come out. The heat shield does move up and down around 2-3 inches, and slightly rotates too.

However, I can't seem to get it out, it feels like as if it's getting stuck somewhere when I try to pull it out. Do you guys know how to remove it? Any tricks?

Thanks,

Arinder

Pull harder. You don't need it anymore, no sense in trying to preserve it.

with the bolts and 02 sensor out there shouldnt be anything else holding it in. try checking if its actually getting stuck on something in the bay that your not noticing. or if that doesnt work just try yankking it out.

time to get the crowbar, that's how we got the stock manifold out of mikes 96 Honda hatch it surprisingly didn't hurt anything.

Got it out, just yanked it hard.

Now another problem...while I was removing my exhaust manifold, one of the studs also came out...

Is this normal?

Stud came out of mine too. You can probably just screw it back in or bring it to a shop and ask them to.

f***, another problem. Can't seem to take my EGR tube off. Is it possible to cut it and then just use some sort of high heat hose to slip on where it's going to be cut?

try penetrating fluid? like wd40 or pb blaster or something? most of the time theyre rusted/frozen/stripped together and really hard to take off. when i replaced my headers i just cut the tube right by the screw part and capped off the egr tube and the hole in the header. soon removing all emissions. anyways, not sure about high temp hose for that i'd just say remove all emissions or cap it off/

see the tutorial: zerothread/294396

also look up egr in tutorials

no, hose will burn.

lasted a few months

i have not tried hydraulic hose but i think any kind of rubber will just burn. maybe soft copper clamped. they clamp mufflers on. hard to find suitable clamps that size. and will not look good.

Alright, I couldn't get my EGR tube off, even heated up the f***er. oh well. Installed my BRM exhaust, soooooo sooooooo deep. I'm going to take it to a shop and get the header done. I would have cut it...but I live in BC, gotta deal with emissions.
