I get my car home, and pop the hood, and start to check out the exhaust manifold, thinking there might be a small leak there that we didnt hear before. Bingo. A bolt broke that was holding the manifold in place. All the backpressure from having a muffler without any holes was too much pressure for it (please, excuse the bad pun).
Anyway, now that you have all the background info, does anybody know how hard it is to replace one of those bolts, I mean drill it out and put a new one in?... They are all rusty so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to replace them all since they'll probly break soon anyway. I'm a low- average level mechanic, should I attempt this job myself, or take it to a shop. Also, if I take it to a shop, approx. what will it cost?
Thanks for any info, I need to get this done, 'cuz my car sounds like and old jaloppy with the valves clicking all over the place.
