I just bought a exhaust system and i was going to replace my downpipe and exhaust manifold. My question is that im looking on the internet for downpipes and manifolds but i can only find turbo downpipes and manifolds. I was wondering even though my car isnt a turbo if i could put those parts on?

No, they're not even the same thing.

Turbo downpipes are huge, too big for a normal motor in my opinion. Also, it just won't bolt up like the stock outlet pipe, not without a turbo to bolt it to.

You should just get a header if you want to go over stock.

Well, header tubes are maximized, so over-doing these with a custom header will be expensive and bad for performance.

As for the 3-inch exhaust, I don't know. Somebody else can say about that.

I have heard that OBX 4-2-1 headers are great for the ka24; with good, long lasting quality.

4-2-1 is greather than 4-into-1 on a ka24 in my opinion (and I'm not the only one).

I think it's called a header collector, downpipes are for turbos. I have seen them call it a downpipe for 3800 v6's, but for the most part, and especially in this case, downpipes will be for turbos.

Since i got a 3inch exhaust should i get the 3 inch turbo downpipe to fit it? Also the exhaust manifold i found is 1.5in inlet and 2in out so would that be able to fit the downpipe. As you can tell I am very new to this so if im doing this wrong could i get some links to some products i could fit to make my exhaust work. thanks

Did you buy a 3 inch cat-back system?

when you take your exhaust and header to a muffler place they can cut and weld the right flanges for everything to bolt up. they might even need to do some custom work but thats the easiest way to do it right

eBay turbo kits are generally horrible. You'd be better off piecing one together yourself, that's what I did.

Hahahahahahahahaha!!!! I just busted out laughing!

OP, read up before making threads. There is so much info on ANYTHING you want to know, it's mind bottling. Seriously.

Plus, you won't get flammed. You are VERY lucky you haven't been already.

like razi said ebay turbo kits are horrible. i had a bad experiance with them. but now that i know i would of done things differently if i ever turbo another car.

1. look for a used garret turbo something you could rebuilt 2. get a decent manifold that has good reviews like jgs, greddy, peaks just to name a few3. get a cheap intercooler kit and start working 4. get something for fuel management like a safc or other ecu piggy back5. tune it 6. fine tune it7. tune it some more

the price is gonna be cheaper if not simelar to the cheapest ebay kit but with better parts for the major stuff

ka-t.org is gonna be your friend always search before asking or ppl with flame u. nico here also have a ka-t section with great info

finally have fun
