so since my IC issues have been resolved and are in the mail. I want to upgrade my exhaust manifold at the same time.........

I have looked at the SSAC option, but Im not a fan and feel that it is a bit too cheap and want something a bit more quality.

I tried to find a trust manifold, but other than a few japanese sites I couldnt read...... I couldnt find anything.

Garage 13 had a decent looking exhaust manifold.......... though I have never heard of them.

any other feedback would be sweet.

I've had mine for years w/o any problems. I think they pretty much got their issues resolved and are trustworthy now.

do these offer a big gain over stock? I am thinking about one as well.

i'd reinforce it though.

just make sure to knock out all the welding crud on the inside before it falls into your turbine blades..

get a cheap ebay one, take it to a local certified welder and your all set. Thats what i did on this car AND on my SR, as well as my buddy mark on his RB, his has been around damn near a year and has come on and off over and over holding a 50mm gate, 2" dump tube and 60-1 Turbo, he originally paid 80 bux for the manifold off ebay.\

you guys read into this whole ebay sucks thing way too much, if you know what to look for, you can work with it and STILL have less money involved than a peakboost or something like that

this is why I ask there questions as I havent purchased them and dont want things to happen(heard some people have issue with warping).

when you say take it to a welder what exactly do they need to "reweld" or "re-enforce"......... my grandfather owns one of the largest welding shops in the south east, though he rare does work in aluminum he can always do it for me

ebay is great and all, but if Im saving 50 bucks to have a 200 problem later...... I would rather know now and spend an extra 150 now and get something worth my money.

you dont want an aluminum exhaust manifold. The heat will warp it like no other.

The best manifolds are usually made in a good grade stainless steel.

For most applications, you can run a good grade steel with a chrome plating.

The really crappy stuff is essentially chrome plated mild steel.

I heard somewhere that sr20 manifolds will fit on a ca. Dont get all pissed off and flame the crap out of me if I'm wrong, just something I saw on a ca18 site.

If you cut the flange off and flip it over, it will work. But they make a CA specific manifold, so why bother?

Don't waste your money on a Trust manifold. They are an inferior grade of stainless and crack up something awful. If you are not willing to spend the money on a serious manifold then just stick with the stock cast iron manifold; it will never let you down.

i mean take it and have it rewelded and re-enforced if you want. thats always worked well for me, just go over the welds, the ebay ones usually have thin welds

If you're gonna be running anything T2ish, the stock manifold is up to the task and won't let you down. The SSAC stuff isn't all thatbad, but it would help to have extra support braces attached to the runners to be on the safe side. I have used the stock manifold to run my first T3/T04B snail and all I did was have a flange added. That set-up yielded me 312whp on 18psi of boost on MSD 50lb/hr injectors. It eventually got destroyed when I hit a pole back in 2002, but it served it's purpose.

Actually, I was looking at my options once and tried to fit the SR manifold to the CA head upside down. It didn't work. The spacing of the studs don't line up.

thanks Dee

I actually picked up an R33 GTR T28 BB turbo yesterday for 45 bucks! no shaft play...... needs a good cleaning(oil gunked up inside) and Im going to send it out for polishing and have it rebuilt.

any recommendations as to a good place to have it rebuilt?

I still have a good shelf full of stuff to install that I dont have the time to do........

wideband 02, greddy Turbo timer, 444 injectors, and really need a tune pretty bad(running uber rich). The parts for my FMIC should be here mid week and by sunday I WILL HAVE IT DONE!

so idealy the best choice is to just stick with the case iron mani?

That backside will be too small. It will spin up real quick then lay down as the exhuast is choked in that dinky housing.
