Exhaust leak smell in cabin

Hi everyone.

I've been having a problem with my exhaust since I bought the car back in 2005. My 93 J had a few exhaust leaks.

My first major fix was when I had the two intermediate pipes replaced. That was at 80.00 each (cut, shape, re-weld back-on).

I also think that my manifolds are causing some problems because I can smell exhaust in my cabin when I drive and I can particularly smell exhaust/gas fumes when my window is down.

Does anyone know what a good price would be to get the exhaust repaired (if worth-it)?

I was given estimates at 1500.00 for the manifold problem, one person said 80.00/hr at about 8-10 hours of work plus the parts.

I don't know what to do and I really need this problem fixed because I know that I am slowly killing myself engulphing all of these bad exhaust fumes.

Any thoughts/comments would be great.

i have the same problem,but only when i put the air con on.the former owner of the car told me that he tried to repair it but couldnt, so he just got used to it.i wiil try my luck to fix it.
