Will an exhaust leak before the o2 sensor affect the gas mileage or performance? I have a leak about the thickness of a quarter or a little more between the turbo elbow and the turbo. Even at idle it is a bad leak.

Yes and Yes, get it fixed no matter how little the leak is now. It will get bigger from here on out

Just curious did you get a cheap header off ebay from xspower? I bought one and it has had a little leak since day one on one of the welds, DONT BUY THAT CRAP spend the extra cash for a good set of trubo headers.

No, its all stock. Im not sure what the deal is with the leak... it should have never left the shop in that condition. Seems that it has gotten worse though over the course of the two months. But i am working with the shop to get it fixed right now. Needs to be machined and new studs.

i will be installing a new O2 sensor and turbo outlet soon enough . . . but one of the studs on the back of the turbine housing is broken off. car boosts fine; 7psi at ~3200rpm depending on gear, stock swap + radiator/fan/exhaust/fuel pump. i plan to order the real GReddy turbo outlet, which i'm sure comes with gaskets and such. does this broken stud really matter since i'm getting full boost at about 3200rpm with 3" exhaust?

btw i'm getting ~24mpg mixed driving, but i think that's b/c my O2 sensor is kaput.

I get 7 at around 2600 rpm and 17 at 3300 in the higher gears with a s15 turbo.

yeah, well, i'm also running S13 w/ stock T-2-small and stock boost and stock intercooler and all. nice to know that spool is about the same for the GT28R and the T25G. i'm undecided as of yet whether to get a GT28RS or save a few hundred bucks and just get a GT28R. then again with the RS i won't have to have new oil and water lines, so the cheaper GT28R might turn out to be just as expensive in the long run.

I used factory oil and water for my gt28r and I must admit my quick spooling has alot to do with my electronic boost controller. Start boost option on the e-01 is one of my favorite features.

yeah but you have an S14 SR, no? . . . stock turbo is pretty similar.

actually, i was hoping to score an Apex'i AVC-R. the E-01 just doesn't seem to be my gig. maybe you can convert me, eh? the thing i like most about the AVC-R is that i can put it on auto-learn it has capabilities for gear-dependent (based only on RPM vs. vehicle speed, no extra sensors required) and RPM-dependent boost control, and it's stand-alone in that it doesn't need an additional controller for advanced options. how does the E-01 stack up?

Im actually running a redtop. As for the boost controller, I would have never bought the E-01 just as a boost controller, its not my style either. At the time two years ago I was looking for tuning options and stumbled onto an ebay auction for an emange with goodies with a Profec e-01 (programs the manage) for $500 so thats how I ended up with it. It has great boost controller features but I dont recomend anyone get it that doesnt have an emanage. The screen is to big but I made it work.
