Exhaust leak, did I forget a gasket? (picture)

When I put my stock headers/exhaust back on I'm not sure if I forgot a gasket between the header (1) and front pipe/primary cat (4). I did not put a gasket there because I never remember one being there, and this image doesnt show a gasket. However my exhaust is loud which means it's leaking someplace. Here is a picture:

did you listen to the car underneath it with it running? That'll help you pinpoint the leak.

plug the tail pipe with sme rags and then listen for the leak.

Just put sopay water on all the connections to see which one bubbles.

I was looking at that just the other day when I sold my stock exhaust, and to be honest I dont think there is a gasket in there. The pipes sorta mate together male/female with that little lip one of them has... I could be wrong too but I really really dont remember seeing either a gasket there or an impression from a gasket on the pipe later on....
