I don't recall anyone posting about this except for me. I didn't get a satisfactory answer so i need to ask again.

Im going to be using jackstands to jack up the car 20'' off the floor to install my Greddy system. I was wondering if i could use all four of them ( to jack the WHOLE car off the floor 20'') or are jack stands only used to hoist up one part of the car? (IE : rear end only or front)

On top of that, if i can only hoist the rear can i succesfully install the exhaust with just the rear up?

Thanks.

imo...id jack it all...just use quality stands...and even that leave the jacks in position...if ur doin a cat back ur install will take u all the way to the middle of the car....and it needs to be stable...exhaust work is heavy pulling and pushing.......

20" is a lot....can it be done..sure. Is it safe....well...it can be. just need to be extra extra careful with your jackstands and placement.

make sure to get wide bases to put the jackstands on. and make sure that you arent gonna be pushing on the vehicle too hard...you dont want it coming down on top of you.

wait better idea...good old fashoin wheel ramps..roll the front of the car up on them...jack the rear up and support with stands...get good ramps...no cheapies...and for christ sake use a decent jack...not the one thats in your trunk! i suggest a 3 ton type pnuematic type...
