To make a long story short, this started about yesterday after a 30min drive on the fwy.
-i had a code 34knock sensor...relocation was done today...seems to be functioning well.
-also had a code 53 right o2 sensor.. at the time of the occurrence (hiccuping constantly while in 1/2/3/4 gears; installed a aftermarket universal o2 sensor which i had to rewire to the original harness..funny thing is.. this new part had 2 whites and 1 black wire; the original harness as you guys may know has 1blk 1red 1 white.. connected the black to black, and the red to the white, and white to white...

to my knowledge, after doing these repairs..the problem should have gone away, but it hasn't..any help is much appreciated, I can use the advice! thanks in advance

Either the fact that its a bad sensor, or your wiring is incorrect. Buy one with the OEM harness on it

okay i did that and well .. weird but, it kept doing it but a bit less, except when at 60mph.. the error codes/check engine light was off.. and after 2 days now since the o2 sens. with the harness was intalled, it suddenly stopped, no hiccuping whatsoever today..almost like magic..who knows how long it will last. lol :/ as to what might have caused it..still a remains a mystery.

Not sure what you mean by "hiccup".

If you mean burbling (soft backfiring on deceleration), then it's totally normal (maybe a bit rich).

hiccup as in...backfiring-missfire sounds in the exhaust..sometimes even pops pretty loud :/.. but just looked up the part through the o2's manufacturer website, according to their catalog..its a different number than what i received..***hole gave me sensor for a 200zx. Like seriously?? I didnt think people can be this inconsiderate and ignorant..a wrong part, twice. Anyway, about the pick up the new part in a couple minutes..will do the install and post if that took care of the prob..im almost 100% sure it SHOULD. Thanks for the replies/input by the way guys, it's truly appreciated!

I think i have the same problem. It's been described as a "heart beat" at idle. No load nothing just sitting there idling. Wen u are move and you put it in neutral do the RPMs bounce?

so i fixed the problem, turns out..now since i have the RIGHT part for the RIGHT car..perfect, as if nothing was ever wrong :) so happy. Thanks for all the input once again.
--grk nickafis: well when i would put it in 1st gear and try to accelerate..it would accelerate but with the hiccuping continously, on 2nd/3rd gears it would do the same..but almost jerked back on every 'misfire' it had..got kind of annoying and started swallowing gas like mad. But all that is fixed now after replacing my o2 sensor; when im driving and i go back to neutral, the rpms go a bit low and back up to normal although it fluctuates alot..im assuming thats not related to my previous problem specified.
