Exhaust Help

Hello I have a 1997 200sx 1.6l. My problem is that the car was originally had California exhaust standard. The car was purchased used and is no longer in California. I was looking to have the cat replaced as well as doing a new exhaust from the cat back and I was recieveng crazy quotes for the parts because they said it was a california vehicle. My question is can I just eliminate the "California" part and put on a non california cat or is the header different? If any one has any help or suggestions please post

Even if the header is different, there shouldn't be an issue if you replace the cat.

I believe you could simply take off Cali parts and replace them with non-Cali stuff or any performance parts you want, since you're not worried about passing Califonia's sniffers come emissions time.
