Been working on cleaning up an exhaust I bought a few days ago. Most of it has been cleaning up really well with polish but there are a few areas that the polish isn't getting the soot off of. I read somewhere that using steel wool works well but I feel like that would just destroy it. Any suggestions?

I used a Dremel, a polishing wheel and Flitz Metal Polish and it did amazing.

Don't have either. Was just wondering if steel wool would damage it or not?

Is it stainless steel? Do NOT use steel wool. It'll scuff it up. Use CLR or soap and water. I clean my tips regularly with soap and water. Works fine.

Or even that orange hand cleaner without the grit in it.

goo gone. Best s*** for anything "gunky"

Also does not hurt pait or clear coat.
