exhaust/boost leak

alright so my car was running great today when i left for work when i got home i parked for about 2 hours went out to go to the movies and noticed that it sounded like i had an exhaust leak. well the further i drove the louder it got. soon my bov would not respond until i got to about 5000 or 6000 rpm. normally it blows off at 2000 to 3000 rpm just curious and it probably does but would an exhaust leak cause me to have a boost leak even when the leak is on the down pipe? any info would be appr eciated

If your exhaust leak is before the turbo (i.e. manifold) it will not spool the turbo properly. Without getting burned!!!! Move your hand around the turbo, exhaust manifold, dump pipe and you'll feel the air pushing out from the leak.
