Hey, unfortunately my SEARCH button does not like working (my internet explorer is being moody again)

ANYWAY...

I was just wondering how I can solve exhaust backfire?

it is just an audible POP type sound comming from the cat i think...

not engine related definately exhaust...

i just got a new muffler for it (aftermarket) with 2 1/4" pipe.

maybe a high flow cat would solve the problem?

(its a 1990 240SX Fastback)

Well is it a backfire or just an exhaust pop? I notice things in my exhaust too now that I went up a couple pipe sizes. I know I am not backfiring.

hey my 89 does the same thing just put in a header and exhaust, kept the strock piping and it seems to be popping right before the cat seems to me that the header is flowing good and then hits the cat and tends to stop the flow and poping occurs??

It might be backfiring in the exhaust, but you just didn't notice it before you got that big exhaust. Or yea, it could just be those popping noises.
