Exhaust and shocks

Since i'll need to put both on the 240 when i get it, anyone recomend a good muffler (the final muffler only, that's it) and also maybe explain some of the different suspensions...In particular, what type of suspension does the 96 240 have? looks like mcpherson struts up front, what's in the back? Can i switch to all coil overs relatively inexpensively (200 and down total?) I'm not building a racecar, just....well, a nicer handling car Also, anyone use those k+n filters that bolt more or less dirrectly to the engine, without all the tubing and stuff from stock?thanksast

K&N bites. i say this all the time, but i love my cheap vibrant muffler. it doesn't sound too ricey. i don't think anyone here really has this brand.

well what ive read from everybody on here or wherever that used those, theyre $hit.i myself am going for eibach or 5zigen (if i can find them) springs and kyb shocks. i just bought the 5zigen muffler (getting custom pipes),will be here friday.

okay, i'll believe you on the coilovers....who makes good moderately priced shocks to replace my stockers then? (stock's fine, whatever)....but, i'm curious what the problem is with k+n..unfortunately saying something bites doesnt do much for me..and i'll look into those mufflers..probably going with a stocker for 100 dollars though, i must have 2 small tips, not one biiiiiig one or two medium ones, just normal looking stuff (i dont like showy cars)ast

k&n messes the MAF up, because of the oil you have to treat it with. i believe they let more dirt through than stock. i have no recommendation for shocks as tokico is the only company that makes them for my car, but i like the sound my borla mufflers make on my car.

now that's some info that helps I'll see if i can get some opinions on this from other folks, but you have a good point. My main idea is to get that huge air box out of the way and clean up the engine bay. Any other filters that do that?ast
