If anyone has a custom exhaust, which tip are you using?

I was gonna go with Skunk2 or Apexi.

Does anyone have any experience with either, using a 3" custom turbo back exhaust? And what does it sound like (i.e. throaty, ricey, etc)?

P.S. This exhaust is for a 1989 240 FastBack

there is a RB exhuast thread that just started this week. You should of posted this in there. As well as the custom exhuast will sound different from car to car due to the bends in the pipe and the angles, etc. Any decent muffler should get a nice note. RB's are known for their throaty sounds.

A friend of mine has an RB20 with a custom 3inch and Apexi N1 muffler. It sounds really good.

However, if you can get away with it where you live, fence pipe exhaust FTW, haha. I loved mine and only received 1 warning in a year. I dont count it though bc it came with a ticket for 30 over.

I welded 3" piping from Summit and welded an Ebay muffler at the end, and though I was initially concerned, it turned out to sound great and deep. Now I should go back and add a high flow cat

Cool, thanks for the info, and the vid's.

I think I will go with the Apexi N1.

Oh and Abdo, I think my engine will be about the same color as your friends in that video; except it will be blue where that black piece was in the middle, and the blue pieces on the side will be polished aluminum.

Thanks again, and I will post vid's and pics when she is finally completed (should be another week or so)

I had a Megan Racing tip on my S13, and a Blitz Nur Spec tip on my S14...both of them had a pretty decent tone to them.
