Hey guys my buddies clutch is slipping. You can let the pedal out all the way with it in gear and nothing happens. With the clutch pedal all the way out, you still have to rev it to 3-4K RPM for it to move anywhere. Possible clutch disc replacement?? Thanks

How long have you had the clutch?

Who did the install?

Was your flywheel okay when you installed it? I ask this because its probably part of the problem, but it doesn't sound like a flywheel would let it slip that much. Unless you really burned it.

A throughout bearing would cause this...i think? You could yank that boot off where your clutch arm is under the transmission, shine a flashlight in there and make sure nothing is loose or that your throughout bearing isn't getting stuck. It seems really odd though.

Post some more info and I'll try and narrow it down.

check to see if the clutch is adjusted properly. there is a rod behind the clutch pedal with a bolt that you can loosen. once the bolt is loosened you have to use needle nose pliers to rotate the rod either further in or out.

there should be about half an inch of freeplay on the clutch pedal. press your foot on the clutch...it should depress without any effort about half an inch without affecting clutch engagement.

if the clutch is not adjusted properly the pressure plate might not be compressing the flywheel and friction disk 100%. I had this problem before and it is rather common when someone changes a clutch the first time.

the clutch has been in for about 2 years. Its prolly got around 10K miles on it. Its worked flawlessly till the past week. It started slipping a little bit and now its slipping bad, i mean you can have it in any gear and take your foot completly off the clutch and it will just sit there, its impossible to stall the car. The car wont move in any foward or reverse gear till u rev it to about 3-4K.
