Are they using a Porsche Cayenne as a camera car?

Also, is that actually how the Juke sounds? Thats SWEET!

Holy hell that thing is uglier than sin. They'll probably sell a bunch of them anyway.

Yeah, it is an industry standard when you need to carry heavy camera equipment while accelerating quickly and maintaining high speeds.

I like the commercial but hate the car.

Not even in the same league of ugly...

These androgynous tall car thingies are targetted directly at bland white women who need room for shopping bags.

Ain't nothin' in production uglier than the Juke.

Not even the Aztek... Yeah, I said it.

oh yes Jesda because 2010 is the year of ugly. and Krash, i too hope that's how it sounds so when i see them on the road i'll know at least they're boosted. I'm sorry charlieo but there is nothing in this world that can top the amount of ugly the Aztek brought into this world. the only thing ugly on the Juke is the front which unfortunately is just the worst part of a vehicle to be ugly.

I think we'll look back on this era of automotive design the way we look at the hideous boats that came out of the 1970s. We'll ask ourselves what the hell we were thinking and pretend like it never happened.

"We put a turbo... in a sport cross!!"

I see Canaan and I making a commercial going "That's right... we put a TURBO, in a VERSA!!!". Just gotta get my hands on the juke engine.

I actually like it.

Yeah, it's weird. But how many Ford Fusions / Chevy Malibu clones can we endure?

I mean, it's functionally weird - not "weird for weirdness' sake" like a damn new Acura. :)

Who knows... Ever since the late 90's they've been systematically alienating their customer base.

It's not even functionally weird. Look at that wasted space in the backend!

Oh no, it's ALL ugly.

They took the horribly ugly Versa (especially in the back), and made it taller and uglier.

OK, I'll indulge you (against my better judgement)...

Referring specifically to the rear, how is that space "wasted"?

Have you seen the interior? Have you opened the rear hatch?

What should be done differently?

I think he is referring to the way the back end slopes up and in. Mathematically speaking... if it were straight back and down, you'd have more interior room. Might sacrifice aerodynamics though.

Like a Volvo wagon?

Actually, there's no real need for that space up high.

I just check out the specs in Nissanusa and I can't believe they don't offer a AWD 6-Speed manual Juke, only in FWD 6-Speed. Anyways maybe just changing the front will with the Nissan Altima lights.

Well at least you're admitting insanity.

Anyway, yes, I've poked around one. Friend's wife bought one. It's weird.

Anyway, check out the slanting roofline, so long headroom! It's admittedly not as bad as it looks, because the beltline rises to meet it, but still, pretty unfortunate. The hatch is also, well why didn't they just make it a sane hatchback and gain some useful storage area for odd sized boxes (IKEA trip anyone?)

And really, let's not fool ourselves. Sport Cross? Buy a damn hatchback! If you're into ugly, the Mazdaspeed3 has a turbo, even!

Though the WRX wagon has a bit of the backslant I'm complaining about, there's been enough times that I've had to stuff something tall enough to bump the back glass in there that I'd say there's no need to do the Juke/Versa silliness.

Unless you're trying to create a niche market for a buyer who's only concerned with the image of utility... wait.

Actually, it's selling nicely. It shattered sales projections in Japan for the first month, and our local dealers had their first truckloads pre-sold before they hit the lot.

That's too bad. I wish they had Ford cruise control switches so they'd catch fire and cease to exist.
