it looks like a DSLR camera. Pics like these can be easily taken with a 300D, which isn't very expensive for a DSLR, they can be had for around $800. Here is a pic I took with a 300D (also known as Canon Digital Rebel and Kiss)AZhitman wrote:Not sure, but it cost a fortune.
I'll find out for you guys.
that looks like the new canon model placed between the original 6.3mp rebel and the canon 10d. the description says they pulled features from the 20d (didnt spend too much time looking over the description to check) which Im sure is a typo and supposed to say 10d, because the 20d is near flagship level and is almost twice the price of that rebel xt model. either way it looks nice. Im in the market for a 20d right now. for internet media use the rebel will do the job and then some. with the initial quality degration needed to make pictures an appropriate size for download would take away any sharpness that the xt, 10d, or 20d would put on the rebel. but the upper models do process much faster, allowing for better action shots, etc. i do mostly still work (product photos, etc) and not much action work, so i could honestly care less. rebel kicks *** and it doesnt have to be the xt to do so.
I agree, the 18-55 isn't good for much. It shoots narrow and doesn't have a good depth of field/focus. It's almost inmossible to get good shots with it, which makes me wonder why they included it with the camera instead of a more versatile lense like a 28-80 like the Nikons. I don't mind the slower lense speed, just give me something I can work with. My targets aren't moving, and not like the 18-55 would do any better job with action shots.SmithSR wrote:AWESOME PICS!!!
The price is good but the 18-55mm lens is the limiting factor with this camera line. I have the 6.3 rebel and was amazed with the device itself, but quickly found the limitations of the camera are because of the conservative lens that comes OEM.
Thank goodness there are about 17679047 optional lenses from Canon...
