Exclamation mark on the dashboard

Car: Nissan Altima 2001

The exclamation mark on my Nissan Altima 2001 Altima has been lit up on the dashboard for the last 24 hours (as if the emergency brake was on). What could be causing this issue? The emergency brake is not on.

Start by checking the brake fluid level. If the fluid is low the light can come on.
