The past week I've been trying to get quotes on getting my top fixed. Today on my lunch break I went to a local shop that I heard does awesome work, and apparently the guy who he has install the tops is one of the best. I really hope that's true.

They use Electron tops, and I'm at a little over a $1000 out the door for the top, and redyed headliner. He's also looking into the tinted rear window for me.

So next month I'm setting up the appointment for it to go in.

I've been doing some reading, and Electron tops are supposed to be one of the better ones to buy, is this correct?

And to make this thread a little better I'll just use this to document my manual swap that starts as soon as my brother's car gets out of the shop.

Yes, Elektron top is one of the best. You live in verts' heaven which is CA, so I bet he'd had a lot of experience. There are not many good in TX, so it's more expensive.

When I do mine, I'll also use Elektron top with TPU rear window. I've done my homework already. http://premierupholstery.com/s...indow

When i asked about the rear window, he said about using the same material bmw uses, so I guess he really know's his stuff. I live in Pennsylvania though, it'd be nice to have the top down all year long.

I read Loki's thread and learned a good lesson, because my original plan was to buy a top from the same place he did and have it locally installed.

From what people have told me so far though, is that this guy is one of the best in the area, and it's only a mile from my house.

I'm going to ask about the TPU window when I get the appointment set up, thanks for that link.
