I was recently at the track and got carried away a bit, with the sprit of it all and ran hard and often:

I felt like I took a couple of years off my trannies life, with those 5-6 brakesstands (for tire warm up), that I performed.

Actually I feel kinda guilty, like I engaged in terrible car abuse...

I may get a transmission flush today yet, maybe even another pandrop filter exhcnage (even tho last one is only 6 months old).only problem once I get a pan drop/ filter exchange I cant get it done at my usual place and the other place here that has the filter element doesnt do flushes..

I welcome any and all comments.

Fred...:)

You only get so many shifts cycles [fewer at WOT] so use them wisely as each one costs about 3-5 cents. The design criteria is to exceed or meet 100,000 shifts cycles [1,2,3,4,4,3,2,1] on new units obviously less on partially remaned units. If you get 70,000 miles out of a remanned $3000/70000= 4.28 cents per mile.See how easy it is to get to 20 cents per mile maintenance and repairs. But flushes and syn ATF, cooler, pan drop: can double that $5,000/140,000= can cut your cost to 3.5 cents per mile or less

A 400 mile expressway trip doesn't have many shifts vs 2500 [7 years] days at 40 shifts per day..........1/4 -1 shift per mile vs 10 in traffic.

Count the shifts per day you'll be amazed and it will sure discourage you from a 6 speed MT. Drop a nickle in a pot for every time it shifts and you'll have plenty after only 60,000 shifts.
