Ok...got a problem with my 180, that seems to be getting slightly worse each day.

If you turn the wheel right or left slightly it feels "OFF" and there is a feeling that it just isn't right.

Anyone have any experience in this regards? What are the most likely culprits? When driving steering is still very responsive, but there is a shimmy when you hit any serious bumps in the road.

Any pointers appreciated. Just looking to see if anyone has been through this before, any common problems. I know where and what to look for but honestly no time right now.

Thanks

I would check the powersteering system. Fluid levels and check the Rack for leaks..

my front sway bar bushing was worn out. Made a bit of a rattle, and a slight pull either direction, left or right, at high speeds, even though my alignment was OK. Got them replaced, everything seems fine now.

Also check tires for unusual/uneven wear on treads.

I just solved a similar problem. Steering felt a bit "loose." While driving on the interstate the car would drift laterally...felt like I was in the driving through tremendous cross winds.

Solution - I replaced my steering rack, pressure lines, return lines (power steering hose cut to length), and tie rod ends. The process is very easy to complete.

My tie rod ends were practically extinct...no rubber boot, very loose, etc. and the rack and all of the lines very slowly leaking.

Side note - I replaced the front ball joints and wheel bearings (pressed in) just to prevent future problems.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards tie tod ends myself, but prob wouldn't be a bad idea to replace all the stuff he did if you got the cash :)
