excessive fuel in cylinder 1

i have a 1993 infinity g20 and i just got it. in order for me to pass emissions i need to do some work to it so i started troubleshooting. i did the usual tune up stuff and notice when i pulled the number 1 cylinder that the plug smelled like gas. so i installed all the plugs and let it run then checked the plugs and cylinder one plug was wet with gas. what would cause this. the car failed emissions cus the hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide was hi. any help would be apreciated.

Do you have a G20 or Q45? Profile says one thing, post say the other.... In either case the likely cause is a leaky lower o-ring on the injector. Less likely would be a short in the injector harness or possibly a faulty injector that failed in the open position.

Maybe the fuel fouled plug isnt even firing....check ignition soure{coil,wires,etc to see if voltage is getting to plug}

lol i have both cars as of right now. i am trying to get it passed emissions. thanx for the help it was a leak in the injector o ring.

Good thing you didn't hydraulically lock the engine.

Does your G20 have different lettering on the trunk than your Q45?
