Exaust System...Help!

If you can help me with this, I'd appreciate it.....I own a 2001 Pathy LE3.5. The pipe that leads into my muffler just snapped apart from rust. Should I replace that pipe, or replace the entire exhaust system? I also need to know on average what I should expect to pay for a replacement pipe, And what I should expect to pay for a replaced exaust system.

Do a search on ebay. I have bought some exhaust parts and had a local place install them for less money than any of the muffler shops around here wanted. Monroe wanted $800 to replace my Y pipe(has 2 cats) on my 95Max and I bought one without the cats on ebay for $150.
