Ex37

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Car: 2008 EX35 AWD JOURNEY

Post

I had a chance to test drive a 2013 EX37 awd today while waiting for an oil change being done to my 2008 Ex35 awd journey. All I can say is WOW!

The transmission is smoother on the EX37 , even if I punch the throttle using the DS mode, it does not haunt gears. Eventhough , it has a 7 speed gears, it is smoother than those G37x loaner that I drove, specially with the lower gears. When I said smoother, I mean using the manual mode. Gearing ratio do not seem to be that short like the G37x. During cruising speed of 60MPH , tach shows below 2k RPM in 7th gear.

The power delivery off the line is a bit better than my 2008. It might be more since my wife , son and sales guy were in the car during the test drive. With less than 300 IBS if driving alone , i bet it is alot quicker than my 2008. BTW, i did use Manual mode most of the time during the test drive.

Exhaust note during idling is noticeable that is has 325 HP, but tamed during accelleration. Pretty much the same as my 2008.

I like the EX bec. It is more comfortable to drive. Has enough power when needed and still very quiet. The G37x awd is my favorite, due to the more butt o meter accelleration feel, but I find it hard to seat in there for a long time.

So stick a different Motor in it, change the Model number by a few digits and call it a new Car?

Funny , but the EX37 is not even shows up on the Infinity website.

Also, I think the optional packages are broken down to different pieces...

The EX37 is more refined or I would say the perfection of the EX35.

Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't find any reference to their aero-kit package for EX37. Tried looking into Canada/UK/Japan website and couldn't see it as an option... Now I'm worried if anything ever happens to my car, I'm sure it'll be trouble to look for replacement pieces.

It's werid , their 2013 EX37 owner's manual PDF is already posted on infinitiusa.com
