ex35 without HID system

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Your vehicle comes w/ halogen projectors..hence putting HID bulbs in will not work...the beam pattern will not be correct. So if you really want to upgrade to HID, you'll have to do a retrofit. That means changing the entire projector to a HID projector. If you want to use Infiniti OEM HID headlights, it'll cost alot more than retrofiting w/ HID projectors.

That is a very easy upgrade. Your halogen projector will definitely work with an HID kit. Still, not a perfect beam Z cut , but close. Still safe for oncoming traffic bec. the driver side beam is still lower than the right. It is actually, more dangerous to use that stock bulb in your projector, bec. you could hardly see anything from the right side at all. I know this, bec. I travel mostly at night. Add some rain and wind and you are in big trouble. I just could not believe Infiniti put a stock bulb in a projector assembly. My Rav4 v6 with reflector type housing produces more light than ours.

I bought my HID kit from

http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p=pr ... &parent=85

It`s cheap, bec. the owner owns assembly plant in Taiwan. So the price is a bargain. These kits are the same kit you`ll buy online for $200 PLUS. When they shipped the KIT to USA, Most reseller put their own badges and add 200% markup on the kit. (This is a known dirty secret most car enthusiast know about).
I have my kit installed since 2008 of Dec. and still no problem at all. I also bought a relay harness for safety, but I found out that you can actually plug a 35w HID kit directly to the OEM harness with no problem at all.

When installing the kit, you need to jack up the front wheels, and remove them. Remove the cover on the wheel well and now you have access behind the bulb assembly housing.
The kit is a plug and play. No wire tapping if you don`t use a relay harness. Make sure you don`t buy a 55W kits or else it might fry your oem harness.
When you buy this kit from them, buy 2 (one for backup, since they ship a little slow). Just incase bulb burn out prematurely. (Nothing is perfect.)
I can`t remember the bulb size. I think it`s H11 . I highly recommend DDM SLIM KIT 35WATTS with 5000K BULB COLOR. (WHITE) . I have a 6000K , it`s white with hint of blue. It`s cool looking too, but it`s a bit washout on rainy days. I hope this helps.

BTW, it`s ON SALE NOW!

Here is the actual picture inside my car. The yellow light is a DDM HID 35W kit 3k color installed in the fog light assembly. The whitish-blue is the DDM 35W 6K color.

Will this kit void the infiniti warranty?

It won't void your warranty, the kit is just plug and play. If you cut and splice your wiring harness or anything and it leads to problems then the dealer has the right to refuse repair. But if you buy a normal plug and play HID kit, you'll be fine. Make sure you purchase a Digital HID Kit so your cars computer doesn't throw any codes.
