EX35 Steering vibration Roll call.....

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Everyone,

I have read hundreds of post about an issue with the steering vibration that people are reporting. I would like to take a poll on what model of car you have.

By talking to the engineer's; this happens on the AWD and not the RWD units. Other factors play a role and it looks like the Canada models are affected.

Please list what model you have? RWD or AWD and state where you are located.

"tire rubbing" noise on right turn exist. Will bring it in for them to look at it on my next oil change. Just wondering if anyone dealt with Markham Infiniti regarding this? I hope this is a known issue to them. If not I'll just refer them to Nico Club

Thanks for all the people who have posted about this.

I also would like to know what the service techs are telling the people who bring their cars in for this fix. What is the fix?

Please keep the comments flowing. I would like to here from others. Thanks.

I've just made the appointment for my oil change for next Thursday. I should be able to provide some feedback afterward. I spoke with the service guy over the phone and he said there's no TSB out for this yet. I'll try to reproduce the noise and let them figure it out.

But from other post others are saying they're replacing the R&P Steering Gear Assembly. I wonder if they'll do the same for me.

Guys,I spent some time today on the phone with the engineer at Infiniti. I need to keep his name confidential, so I can't tell you his name. I have some information that might be helpful about the AWD. He could not tell me anymore information, but the AWD drive units are built different than the RWD. Same plant, but different line. They actually use different parts in the two different model cars. He thinks that the noise is actually coming from the AWD unit that is located under the car front passenger side.

With all my research, I am trying to come up with a conclusion. I think that either something is not calibrated to spec right, or the AWD system is having issues with the engine/trans design. I am not stating a fact here. I am doing research and trying to help everyone out.

Stand by for more information. So far, the AWD drive units are suspect, not all, and not the RWD.

As mentioned in the steering vibration thread, some of us that had the problem have had it fixed. The part numbers that were used are mentioned there, also. There seems to be no further need to diagnose the problem, since it has been done, by Infiniti. The only problem remaining is that the Infiniti mothership needs to spread the word to every dealer that, YES, there is a problem, and YES, there is a fix! It's amazing that some dealers know about this and others are in the dark.

Kamiguy,

My point exactly, you stated this some dealers know about it and others do not. This is what I am trying to fix. I am also trying to fix the issue for some of us that is have different models.

Did you know that not all cars are affeted by this. The engineer actually didnt know which lines had the issue. I am trying to help him out with our post to gather this info.

All the dealers need to comply, that is another thing that I am working on. I should get paid for doing this. JK LOL
