EX35 Stalling from idle speed

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a 2008 EX35 that stalls intermittently during idle speed. When I am in a parking lot looking for a space, the engine will cut out and I'll have to restart. This also happens after comming to a stop then accelerating a small amount like in stop and go traffic. I had the fuel pump replaced before the TSB came out.

Hi, welcome to the Site.

What RPM does your Car run at, while at Idle ?

Here is an update on the stalling from Idle to slight acceleration then to braking. It was the left cam sensor ! . I had to help the Tech with the thought process to diagnose the problem. They kept saying, "forums like these, people can say all kinds of things but they arn't the experts - we are". Well I read about the Pathfinder cam sensor issue on this forum and let him know that it could be it and not register a fault code - he didn't agree but said he would check w/ Infinity - Ah-Ha ! they have had an instance 1 other time with the EX. Works good now, but the brakes are now warped a bit from all of the testing they did - I just had them reserfaced and the new shims put on the brakes. Great Forum !

Before they figured out the cam sensors, they reset the adaptive transmission- made the car more peppy.

Hello Jackco,

I have same problem here with customer EX35. It stalls exactly on the same way as your. Should I change all cam sensors, or only left side?

Thank you

Fellippe

Yup stalling at low speed is usually cam sensors or O2 sensors. If its idling rough its probably coil packs.

The Dealer changed all of them, I figure if one has gone bad then the other will too. They also re-set the transmission before changing the sensors - while this didn't fix the stalling, it made the car more responsive.

Magnavox, did you get yours fixed ? If so, what was the problem ?

I have the exact same problem. I guess I should make an appointment to the dealer. I didn't service my car there, will they ignore my warranty?

The Sensors that were changed on mine are on the front of the engine, up top on each side of the cam covers
