Hey, NJGuy- realize this was some time ago, but really appreciate your detailed review. Any changes you would make?
Thanks!
Yeah, that list is pretty old. The only model there that might be available is the Continental PureContact, and I think it's already being phased out to make room for its successor.
The first question you should ask yourself is if you want to stay with the stock specs, which is 225/60R17 with a V speed rating. If you do, it might limit your selection a bit. If you're willing to stray from those specs a bit, a tire in the 235/55R17 size (with a speed rating of H or above) definitely opens up your options. That size isn't too far off and a few of us here have run tires in that size without any issues. There are more performance oriented models available in that size as well. Once you decide on the specs, rank the other features you're looking for in a tire (price, comfort/noise, longevity, handling, etc). I'm sure wet traction would be at the top of your list.
I've found that Michelin and Continental have some tire models that are good "all-around" performers. I usually end up buying one of the two brands, but I'm not exclusive to them either. On my FWD Honda I'm running on a set all-weather tires from Toyo for the colder months.
So basically, think about what you need and want in a tire and post it up here. I'm sure there's a model out there that'll fit what you're looking for. If I get a chance I'll throw a few suggestions your way.
