EX35 Radio Problem

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My girlfriend got an EX when they came out last year. Over the last two months the radio switches over to a japanese screen with no options just what looks like a warning in japanese and the ac switches to full blast. It recently went in to get a new steering wheel relay, and since the techs couldn't get the car to do this they wont try and fix it. I just want to see if anyone else has this problem. It happens about once or twice a week.

Wow - another weird one. I've never experienced nor heard of this, but perhaps you can take a pic or video of it the next time it happens, then show it to your dealer.

Just a thought,David

Sounds like you need to flash the ECU for the unit. Could be a fireware that got corrupted when it was being fixed. I heard of this happening on other makes. Software can get corrupt at anytime.

Bring it in and let the dealer fix it. Good luck man.

I will try and do that if it happens when im driving again, last time i didnt have my phone on me. I wouldnt want to tell my girlfriend to do that.... Another distraction would probably end the ex.
