EX35 owners please help and look at my seat!

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Does your seat look like this after you sat on it for 30 minutes?

I had something look like that after folding down the back seats w/o properly stowing the seatbelts to the side of the seat. They got wedged between seat and seat.

Yea, I recently bought a low mileage 2008 and it had similar indentations. Had it looked at by a couple upholstry guys. Both said they thought they could fix it but one said it would shorten the life of the leather. Decided to live with it. Hell after 200,000 miles who'll care.

Thanks everyone, and nothing in my pockets, I am trying to decide my next move. Only one side ugly and it came with the EX new.

I thought warranty would take care of it. I voiced my displeasure three months new during the 1st oil change. Dealer took pictures but said Infiniti Canada refused to pay for any fix and said it's normal. I sent Infiniti Canada a letter and called them directly, but they said their position wouldn't change. What would you do? would you call it normal if this is your new EX?

I would insist at looking at all the demo's on the lot to see what their seats are like. I am sure they have been sat on for more than 30 minutes at a time. If they all look normal, with no dents, throw that back at them. But, do your seats return to "normal" after you have finished driving?

kg, I've done my research and even the service manager agreed with me by taking pictures and trying twice to get the claim. But it's Infiniti Canada not approving the repair so the dealer said their hands are tied.

The one seat would return close to "normal" overnight. The other one, looks perfect whether you sat on it or not, even after hours of sitting.

Yeah that stinks, but it could be worse at least the leather is not worn/ripped or torn or worse. At least you won't notice it when someone is sitting there, LOL!

Just because an issue might be deemed "normal" wear it does not mean all EXs will have it.

I would try cleaning and conditioning the seat surface, there are products and techniques that could be done to help tighten that. Try researching Autogeek (shh you didn't hear that from me).

You can also try to physically tighten the leather seating surfaces.

It will give you an idea of where the leather goes

Good Luck

So would you recommend that the Clips be moved so that it draws the Edges in tighter ?

I wish there was a up-close Photo of this edge and clips, to see how one would relocate them.

Sorry I cannot find a picture now, next time I see one I'll try to snap a pic for you guys.

There really isn't much of an adjustment per say, it is more of a refreshing of the fit.

This is the best I could find. It requires a little imagination.

My 2004 Murano looks the same. I have to add that it looked that way after about 1 month of ownership.....and it still looks like that. 6 years and 78,000 miles. Good leather, from my perspective.

I just noticed a similar indent in my driver's seat, same spot, not as deep. Then I realized it might be from my house keys which I keep in my back right pocket. Sure you're not carrying anything in your right pocket? Wallet, keys, flask? ;)

I have this same thing happening to my driver seat after the EX is now about 6 months old, it sometimes goes away, otherwise the leather is holding up ok.

Bummer...I'd be pissed...been very impressed with the leather quality. I'd want satisfaction!
