EX35 Oil Filter Bargain

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I'm picking up my new (2010) EX35 today. It replaces my 04 Murano which I really like. I'm a do it yourself kind of guy. Well, for the most part. However I do know my limitations. I do my own oil changes and I found something at Amazon that really rocks.

For those who do it yourself, I recently found a real bargain on Mobil 1 oil filters. The EX35 takes the M1-108 filter and Amazon has a 2 pack for $12.99 (http://www.amazon.com/Mobil-M1-108-Exte ... 366&sr=8-1). This item ships with free shipping if you spend $25 or more. If you need some other stuff, add a couple filters. Normally these go for about $10 each, plus tax at your local parts store.

Tell me more about yourself.

Where would these Filters and Crush Washers come from (State or Province) ?

Do you work at a Dealership or Shop ?

Time for me to change oil. Looks like the same parts, washer & filter, are used for both of my cars.
Are these also Mobil 1 M1-108 filters? If not, what are they? What brand are the crush washers.

If you still have a Warranty, it makes sense to use OEM parts.

It would be a lot less hassle, if something craps out >>> post4766749.html

I am 99+ % sure that a Mobil 1 filter would satisfy warranty. Good Grief, if a Fram filter will satisfy warranty requirements, so would a Mobil 1 filter.

How many warranty claims have there been regarding oil related issues? Or specifically, oil filter issues? Just wondering!

Well, you might be right, but... what's less hassle when push comes to shove?

If you're buying your own Filters, it's obvious that you're doing your own Oil-changes, too. If you're doing your own Oil-changes, then you're trying to save Money, right?

Money-wise, you're going to be ahead of the game, anyways... so what's a few bucks more for the Oil-change to be done with OEM Parts.

So why not make it, as less hassle as possible... until your Warranty runs out?

That's all I'm saying. Argue, with me, until the bitter end... but I'd go with the route of less hassle. Nowadays, a lot of people, don't even keep their Cars long enough to see the Warranty expire... so me thinks also, in a Private-sale, if I was trying to hand the Car off to someone else, they would be more receptive to buying it, knowing that they too, won't have any hassle either... if there's a problem.

It's your Car, do what you want.

My 2 cents... :woot:

I would take a Mobile 1 oil filter over the oem filter any day of the week. As long as you are not buying el cheapo filters like Fram then you have nothing to worry about warranty wise. I usually use K&N filters myself but they are pretty expensive. Since I have 2 years of free oil changes I'm going to wait before I purchase any for the EX.

It's offered by some dealers. I asked when I bought and they had been running a promo up until the previous month offering 1 yr of oil changes and maintenance. Someone told me that another dealer in the area (Northern VA) is offering 2 yrs right now.

so it's from dealers not from infiniti itself then, right? Another words, if I bought it used, I shouldn't hold my breath :)
