EX35 Miles left in tank computer malfunctioning?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Just wondering ever since I got this EX a year ago, I've noticed that once the warning light goes on letting me know that there are 40 or less miles left in the tank, it's never accurate usually it will jump to 30 then hit 20 and down to 0 in about a mile or two. My Honda Accord prior to this was spot on, why is an Infiniti having this issue?? Is anyone else seeing this problem with their EX.

I've also seen there's a recall on Rogues & M35/45 low tire pressure warning lights, mines been acting funny anyone else's acting up?

It can change rather quickly based on the type of driving you are doing. Usually after the 20 mile mark it can quickly drop to 0 or --

i don't have that problem because i always fill it up at 1/4 of a tank. i have heard that it is better for the car that you don't run it too close to empty.

Its always been an annoyance with the EX35. Just on Sunday I had an experience of the display telling me I had 100 km left then within 30-40km of highway driving it was down to zero.

When you get to "0" miles left ... that means you still have about 1.2 - 1.4 gallons left. It's not exactly zero.

And yes, it can go down pretty fast from 40 to 30 to 20 to 0.

One of the more annoying bugs in my EX before I sold it. Ran out of gas the first time in my life because of it and Infiniti Roadside Assistance took forever in 112 degree heat.

Mine does this all the time ... my Acura and Lexus were always spot on ... but it seems Infiniti's in completely unreliable.

Yup. Mine works just as the original poster described his. Annoying since I do like this feature and would rely on the gauge if it worked. Jon
