ex35 headlight projector problem - replace bucket

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hello I am trying to resolve the headlight problem. I could hardly see anything during night with HID on my ex35. I know the headlight cover condition is bad and reflector could be bad too.
I opened up headlight and the projector's reflector is rusted.

I planned to replace projector with LED bi beam projector.
However if you see the picture... the projector is not replaceable. G37 has different design so those posts won't help. Any idea what adapter/bucket/housing I should purchase in order to install LED projector?

Hi there, just checking if you ever found a solution for this issue. I have the same problem with my 2010 EX35 AFS headlights that have slowly gotten dim over many years. Replaced the bulbs, cleaned the outer lenses and replaced the ballast but nothing has helped. I'm hearing the problem may be the interior projectors have rusted/corroded?

yes the reflector behind projector is the problem. Replacing bulb won't help.
Do not buy those small LED with projector bulb, I tried already.

Finally I replaced entire unit, also I replaced high beam.
I have another post about the project, since you already have AFS you do not need to cut the bracket.
