EX35 Headlight doesn't adjust while turning

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all,

Did a search and didnt seem to find a topic related to my issue.
Just thought I would post to see if anyone knows of a solution.

Background: I went and replaced both my HID bulbs as one (Passenger side) went dead.
While replacing the driver side, it took a while for me to unclasp the clasps holding the xenon bulb in.
Once both sides were replaced, i took the car out for a drive to test.

Problem: I noticed the driver side headlights wasn't adjusting when i was turning. Checked to see if AFS was enabled and it was.
Passenger side will adjust to the right when turning right, driver side stays straight when turning left.
At this point I thought I screwed the motor. I moved the light to the left, started up the car, and the driver side light actually moved and centered itself.
Unfortunately, it still wouldnt turn left when i turn left.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
-nolan

Are you doing the test whilst the car is stationary ? I'll have consult the manual but I believe the drivers light only turns whilst the car is in motion.

Ok, on P 2-37 of the manual...

The AFS will operate:
● when the headlight switch is ON.
● when the selector lever is in any position
other than P (Park) or R (Reverse).
● when the vehicle is driven at above 16 MPH
(25 km/h) for the left-side headlight. Note
that the right-side low beam headlight will
swivel but the left side will not swivel when
the vehicle is at a stop and the steering
wheel is turned. The vehicle must attain a
speed above 16 MPH (25 km/h) before AFS
activates the left-side headlight.

oh DAMN!

Thanks for the check. I only read up to the first 2 points in the manual... I should have read #3, as I was too focused on see how i could get AFS to operate.

Thanks again!
