EX35 Future

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

New to the forum but have been visiting over the past few months. I'm curious about what the rest of you think the future is for the EX. I've had mine for about 7 months now (love it) but have never seen another one on the road during that time. No 2009 model has been introduced, or even mentioned, that I have noticed. With the auto industry in its current state, will the EX go the way of the dodo bird after one year?

Welcome to NICO, MDEastonShore!!

Yes, many of us are wondering about the EX's future, but if you look through a few related threads here, you'll see there's some talk of '09s arriving in the spring with no changes, and some rumours about the 2010 model.

Cheers,David

I talked to my dealer about this. He said it was due to the over-supply of the 2008 EX35 that Infiniti delayed the 2009 version. The EX35 came out during the economic downturn that caught many Auto-makers.

There's talk of either a 2009.5 version for Fall ... or really a 2010 version. Not much change he said.

I heard that Infiniti will produce the 09 models, but it will be to a limited supply under 10,000. The 2010 model will be more. All depneds on sales, and the economy.

well, Infiniti screwed up by not simply putting the 7-spd and VQ37 in the EX to start off with, because they didn't want to trump their beloved FX revamp. Then they went and did something stupid and only put the 35HR in that pig of an FX (which will barely outrun my 2.0l SVT Focus BTW)

So they are stuck with a carry over EX35 with tweaked option packages. I suspect they will come back in 2010 with an EX37 7-spd because they will need to compete with the new X3 (which is looking like it will be a dog)

I'm guessing they are really concentrating on an X6 fighter with the new QX.

True, very true, but hell if they did that to the EX35 now in 08 or 09, people will buy the FX. EX is for a different group. Remember FX is an SUV and EX is a crossover/wagon/sports cars/mini suv thingy.

No one knows really what the hell it is, but it is sure fast, hot, nice looking and an awesome package for under $40K. Actually $36K with the rebate. I am cool with that. A $50K FX doesnt suit me.
