EX35 compared to G35AWD

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I went to the dealership today to replace that noisy fuel pump and had a chance to drive a G35X loaner. Darn G35X! I had headache after driving a couple of miles. That thing has more torque! and a little less refined. I love the G35 power. but after driving my EX35 for a month, I don`t think I can drive the G35x everyday. My back tends to hurt and the exhaust noise is terrible (a magnet for cop! ) I`m in mid 30`s and I finally realized that the EX35 was the best decision I made. Interior is a lot better than the G35 also. I almost bought a 08 WRX STI, that thing probably would make me retire early due to back and neck injuries. I`m glad I picked the EX35 nice blend of POWER and Comfort (Except the rear legroom)

I am going to agree with you 100%, the g35x is an impressive vehicle compared to lexus or acura, however the Ex35 is more of a bmw and benz competitor. In my opinion the ex is far better equipped in most categories, i still love the tech in the bmws.

When i first saw the pics of the preproduction Ex35 i canceled my g35 order. i am glad having also had a g35x loaner it is not an luxurious but still a fine piece of engineering.

I haven't gone in for the fuel pump but i need to. I hear its a considerable sound difference at start up.

hehehehe

They are 2 different animals. G is more of a sport luxury car. EX is on the luxury side of the segment. I am in mid 30 and I am on my second G. I was actually thinking to go for the EX but could not let the power go. It puts smile on my face every time i step on the gas. Ex is a nice car enjoy what you get. At least you can drive a G when you take your EX in for service. For a dd you need something what's comfortable for you. Especially if you have back problems.

Enjoy the EX. It is an awesome machinery.

Wow! That's nice to hear. I was looking at getting the G37 coupe. Test drove it and everything and it was a fast car! Then I heard the G37X and considered that. Finally though practicality kicked in and went for the EX35 (taking delivery tomorrow!). Sometimes I still have an awful feeling of missing out on the G but its good to know that the EX favors to some of us.

my next Infiniti will be something with higher gas mileage since it will replace the commuter car. If they can do this with a G20 or 25 or G30, whatever then great. I drove a G35 loaner and I loved it, but only one low mpg car in the fleet.

i had a g35 loaner too, the power was great but my wife didn't enjoy one bit. She had headache and motion-sickness from the constant powerful acceleration, braking, and noisy exhaust. I was having so much fun with it, and got carry away. (BTW, i used to drive acura RSX)

G35 is a fun car, but for me and my wife, EX35 is the best choice for us. It is so comfy inside, it always put wife to sleep (as a passenger) that is biggest different between the 2 cars.

or for the ex just put in a 6th gear like everything else in it's class. that alone can make a huge difference for highway driving.
