EX35 Center Console Problems

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

This mainly happens in the summer when it is fairly hot out, but it recently happened in 10 degree weather on my way across Canada. No music and no control of any of the functions of the center console sucks.

The local Infiniti dealer was useless and they didn't even want to try to recreate the problem.

Here's what happens.

The screen will fade to black or freeze and all the controls in the center console will also freeze up. They will be lit up, but you won't be able to change anything.

Occasionally this will happen when the screens shuts off it will reboot with a green screen with a bunch of Japanese and a line of English saying to insert the programming cd.

Anyone else have this problem

there's a TSB for that. Dealer's supposed to update the software version for the radio.

I could have sworn it was for the cars with nav.

Update

So, the module that they replaced was for the ipod dock connector. This was not the problem so it looks like we are getting a new head unit free of charge.

I had this problem until it never rebooted again. The hard drive crashed. Entire head unit replaced free of charge. All music stored on your hard drive will be lost, as will all settings and addresses on the nav.

Really sucks, but at least you'll be playing with a new nav system.

Mine doesnt have NAV, they replaced an ipod control module still hasnt fixed the issues we are having. We need a new radio and the local dealer is not working with us to get one.
