Someone said above in this thread that you cannot use this Aerokit with adaptive cruise control (Also known as ICC).drdamian wrote:i kinda like the aero kit. im wondering if it works with the adaptive cruise control. can anyone confirm it.? the kit appears to be in front of the sensor
You do use the existing bolt holes for the most psrt. I can only speak for the front section as I watched it get installed. The front is help to the existing bumper cover with clips and double sided tape. The clips need to get mounted to the exiting bumper cover and therefore require holes to be drilled into it. If you don't have the park-distance cotrol, you don't need to worry about making the large holes, bt still need the smaller ones.EXceptional wrote:Says who... that you can't get Self-healing Paint outside of the Factory ?
My wifes car is going in the shop for repairs. I called the dealer and they referred me to their shop and they stated that the paint is not avialable outside of the factory. (The shop currently had an EX in for body work and they had just done the research to try to find the paint)
I'm curious... this kit... why isn't it able to utilize all the existing Bolt-Holes wherever possible ?
Sorry to hear that. I had the same problem, some guy at work scratch the whole passenger side with a key and i took it to the dealer and they referred me to their body shop and it came out perfectly normal like nothing ever happened. The shop said they put the self healing paint on there. I live in Orland Park, IL.rushmdat23 wrote:Aero Kit Info
As an aside, you cannot get the "self healing" paint outside of the factory, so hope your EX doesn't need any body work. I'm SOL.

Guess I'll give them a call in the morning. I still have plenty of time to get the paint then since the car is only going into the shop tomorrow or so.joser122588 wrote:

Yeah it looks wicked! But remember the EX doesn't have the wonking big sport brakes so it would look a lot emptier in the middle of the wheels. Plus if you don't lower it a bit it will look like the EX is "tip toe-ing", if you know what I mean.jpastore wrote:I like the idea of the G37 19" wheels. Would these work on an EX? There's a bunch of sets on eBay for sale.
Awesome! I can't wait to see the Aero photos, and then when you get the rims, that will really be sweet!rushmdat23 wrote:Thanks for the heads up about the paint. I called your shop and its actually a similar product from Dupont, not the factory product. My shop uses the same Dupont set-up so I was able to get the product number and that is being applied. I'll get the car back early next week (in the paint booth now) and will have pics of the full aero kit for all to see.
Next up...20" rims when spring rolls around

Glad to hear your body shop stays in the loop on refinishes , as I am an Automotive Paint Technician of 30 years and when I read you were SOL on the " Self Healing " Clear I was about ready to post saying that was BS untill I read this post and seen where they are doing you right by getting the clear needed to do the repair correctly ! That Price isnt out of line as the clear I use ( PPG's Global ) is the same amount for a gallon , I use PPG Base coat / Clear Coat system and the Self Healing Clear is called CeramiClear in the PPG line .I have not had to spray it yet as we have not had a vehicle ( I work for a Cadillac , Buick , Pontiac , GMC dealership ) with the OEM " Self Healing " Clear come in for repairs . Its Still a fairly new technology , Mercedes & BMW's have it that I know of from the factory besides Infiniti .rushmdat23 wrote:Should have the car back next Monday I hope. Still waiting for the extra special clear coat to arive so they can paint the car and get the kit installed. And for those keeing score, the clear coat (with scratch shield) is $200 a gallon and there is a required additive that is $70 a quart .
