EX35 Aero Kit Pictures

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Note that you can't use this if you have the Technology Package because it blocks the ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control).

That said, here's someone in Dallas, TX, selling just the front spoiler on eBay.

Cheers,David

Side profile looks like an FX! Looks good, makes it look a little more angular as opposed to too much curvy. Rear bumper lights seem covered though.

it looks tacked on. and in those pictures it doesn't look like the paint match with body which is sad considering it is factory. I saw it on a black which I had hoped it would hide the seems but no dice. after having tech package I couldn't lose ICC for that. and look at the rear spolier....it looks liek it is almost covering up the bottom of the rear deflector. Horrible fitment.

if the kit looks more integrated I'd go for it. The over all look is good....but the seams and fitment....poor.

The one thing I personally like about the Aero kit is that it eliminates the black lower portion of the body that is on the stock EX35. I wish Infiniti would have made that body color instead of black.

Someone said above in this thread that you cannot use this Aerokit with adaptive cruise control (Also known as ICC).

darker color EXs tend to hide that anyways. I only notice the black lower body trim on light vehicles.

Aero Kit Info

OK folks...looks like I am the guinea pig. I've ordered the kit and just had the front spoiler section of it installed earlier this morning. Was going to have the whole kit installed, but about 12 hours before install, someone decided to run into the driver side of the car and scratch/dent the entire side . (No point in installing the side skirts until the damage is fixed)The kit is a "bolt on" but don't let that fool you. In order to install the front lower spoiler, you need to removed the existing bumper cover. New holes need to be drilled into the existing cover for mounting brackets as well as the existing PDC sensors removed and the holes enlarged as the new lower spoiler comes with its own PDC sensors. This means that once installed, YOU CANNOT GO BACK TO STOCK unless you get a new bumper cover (I guess you could try using a lot of double sided sticky tape without the brackets and hope it doesn't go flying off). Fitment looks good and makes the front look more agressive.Sorry, but didn't get a chance to take any good picks. Maybe tomorrow. Give me a few weeks and I'll have the rest installed.

As an aside, you cannot get the "self healing" paint outside of the factory, so hope your EX doesn't need any body work. I'm SOL.

Says who... that you can't get Self-healing Paint outside of the Factory ?

I'm curious... this kit... why isn't it able to utilize all the existing Bolt-Holes wherever possible ?

My wifes car is going in the shop for repairs. I called the dealer and they referred me to their shop and they stated that the paint is not avialable outside of the factory. (The shop currently had an EX in for body work and they had just done the research to try to find the paint)

You do use the existing bolt holes for the most psrt. I can only speak for the front section as I watched it get installed. The front is help to the existing bumper cover with clips and double sided tape. The clips need to get mounted to the exiting bumper cover and therefore require holes to be drilled into it. If you don't have the park-distance cotrol, you don't need to worry about making the large holes, bt still need the smaller ones.

The sides and rear will get installed during the repairs. I'll post pics once it's complete.

Sorry to hear that. I had the same problem, some guy at work scratch the whole passenger side with a key and i took it to the dealer and they referred me to their body shop and it came out perfectly normal like nothing ever happened. The shop said they put the self healing paint on there. I live in Orland Park, IL.

I like the idea of the G37 19" wheels. Would these work on an EX? There's a bunch of sets on eBay for sale.

Guess I'll give them a call in the morning. I still have plenty of time to get the paint then since the car is only going into the shop tomorrow or so.

Yeah it looks wicked! But remember the EX doesn't have the wonking big sport brakes so it would look a lot emptier in the middle of the wheels. Plus if you don't lower it a bit it will look like the EX is "tip toe-ing", if you know what I mean.

Audtatious maybe you could re-photoshop it without lowering and keeping the EX brakes to see what it would look like.

Thanks for the heads up about the paint. I called your shop and its actually a similar product from Dupont, not the factory product. My shop uses the same Dupont set-up so I was able to get the product number and that is being applied. I'll get the car back early next week (in the paint booth now) and will have pics of the full aero kit for all to see.

Next up...20" rims when spring rolls around

Should have the car back next Monday I hope. Still waiting for the extra special clear coat to arive so they can paint the car and get the kit installed. And for those keeing score, the clear coat (with scratch shield) is $200 a gallon and there is a required additive that is $70 a quart .

Glad to hear your body shop stays in the loop on refinishes , as I am an Automotive Paint Technician of 30 years and when I read you were SOL on the " Self Healing " Clear I was about ready to post saying that was BS untill I read this post and seen where they are doing you right by getting the clear needed to do the repair correctly ! That Price isnt out of line as the clear I use ( PPG's Global ) is the same amount for a gallon , I use PPG Base coat / Clear Coat system and the Self Healing Clear is called CeramiClear in the PPG line .I have not had to spray it yet as we have not had a vehicle ( I work for a Cadillac , Buick , Pontiac , GMC dealership ) with the OEM " Self Healing " Clear come in for repairs . Its Still a fairly new technology , Mercedes & BMW's have it that I know of from the factory besides Infiniti .
