EX30d

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I will be the first to admit I do not use facebook to see what the people I went to high school are thinking about at any given point. Although I do keep a few trainwrecks on my news feed just for lols, I primarily use it to keep an eye on a few things like the what the marketing intern at Infiniti has to say every once and a while.

Usually it is some useless nonsense about an art project, well this one is too I guess. I just happened to notice something interesting.

I guess I am a little late to the party. But it looks pretty neat.
When I googled it I found something even better.

Uhh yeah I think I am going to need one of those.

Diesel Infiniti? I wonder how much it would cost in the US and how much MPG is has to offer. I've never owned a diesel so I have no experience with them, other than it being noisy. "Alliance engineers have determined that the V9X engine has the lowest 250 Hz and 500 Hz vibrations of all the benchmarked engines.".. I hope to see more photos of the front, it says number of changes had to made to the front end inorder for it work with the diesel engine. Looks like an entirely revamped car and if it will have the engine/exhaust not most infiniti's have (especially the new ones).

EDIT: Here we go, I found a trailer for the new EX30d, its new to me so for anyone who wants to take a look. The front end seems more aggressive but I don't know if its "better"?

Test Drive Video: at 2:20 you can hear the engine, sounds good for a diesel engine, just slightly underpowered..

Interesting find. All it needs are some Roof-rails and Tires other than Dunlops... and it'll be a top-seller !

Good find Steve! One can only hope that if they bring that motor to the US, that they have engineered it to use the fuel here, and that we don't see the problems that VW has seen with the high preas. fuel pump. As to tires I solved the tire issue by replacing with Nokian WR's, and now have 20k miles on them, and while they are a little noisy, they are wearing well, and provide great traction.

I would personally like to see Infiniti take that step. They are already using Direct Injection (with much better results, from early results) and not loosing fuel systems like VW (fingers crossed) forced induction is the next logical step.

I would expect to see maybe something like an EX25 maybe with a turbo (depending on how the G25 sedan sells I bet) but a diesel would be surprising. I do not know if the majority of the EX driving community would be ready for that. There is such a stigma attached to diesels still in the States.

zarar, I think you accidentally posted the same video twice, instead of the test drive video.

I was adding the video links when I posted a while back and added the tags to the links you posted to embed the video in your post. You had posted the links to the youtube video but if you click the youtube button in full editor you can auto embed.
