EX Trunk Net

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Stopped by the local emporium yesterday to pick up a tonneau cover and while there inquired about a "trunk net" for the EX. Our G35 had a full width nylon "string-bag type" net that fit in the bumper end of the trunk. Was ideal for plastic grocery bags and loose bottles of wine---not something one wants rolling around in the trunk...

Parts department staff said there was no such animal for the EX but did suggested a G trunk net (still offered) might be jury-rigged to fit...

Anyone retrofitted a G net to an EX? Or perhaps come up with a different solution? Noticed that there are a couple of similar generic-brand "trunk nets" offered on Amazon. Since a bit of redneck engineering is involved, even with the Infiniti G net, may give one of those cheapies a shot using either "S" hooks or long Velcro straps attached to the EX tie-downs...

I would be curious too. The wife told me to "save the net" when I traded in the G35 but I was a fool and left it in the trunk. I even gave them that nice leather registration/insurance holder but that is off subject. I foolishly figured that the more shallow depth of the EX and the difference in the "trunk" length may be the limiting factors. I am eating humble pie now for not trying.

I wonder if there is some issue with the fact that the G has a real trunk (depth wise) and the EX does not? Dunno and just a thought. My wife's CRV did not have a net but only the trunk caddie that we can get for the EX. Are they worried that the groceries would slip out with a flat floor space?

The G net fits fine. When I purchased my EX, I had the salesperson throw in a net for me. He took it out of a G and just gave it to me. Works like a charm. There's 2 sets of clips that you just attach the top and bottom of the net to.

Thanks Mad-ex, most grateful for the info. On Monday I'll see if the local emporium has one to hand. Like Tasman I also neglected to "save the net". I'm one up on Tasman however---I can blame my Sheila for the omission since she was obviously quite remiss in not telling me to save it...

Infiniti should list the trunk net as an EX option on their website. Perhaps they are more interested in selling the expensive trunk organizer instead???
